The Transplant Medication Information Teaching Tool (TMITT) was developed by pharmacist Jennifer Harrison to help patients understand why they need to take medications following their transplant, how to make sure they are taking the right dose, and tips for managing their medications.
There also sections with details for 8 different anti-rejection medications and 4 different anti-infective medications. These cover the characteristics of the drug and how to take it, as well as potential side effects and interactions with other drugs.
This application can provide a template for developing medication teaching tools for many other conditions.
