Pneumonia is currently one of the most common infections after surgery.
This is referred to as postoperative pneumonia. Preventing pneumonia can help prevent you from getting very sick and help you recover faster. It can also help prevent problems after surgery caused by pneumonia.
It is important to work with your health care team to prevent pneumonia
after surgery. Doing all of the activities mentioned in the video after your surgery while you are in the hospital keeps your lungs healthy and helps you have a smoother
recovery.
