Case Description
- Patient was a 53 year old woman diagnosed with a epithelioid hemangioendothelioma mass in segment 6 of the liver.
- A robotic liver resection of segment 6 with Pringle maneuver was planned.
- The patient had had a previous open resection of segment 7 of the liver, performed through a right subcostal incision.
- Adhesions from the previous surgery are limited to the right upper quadrant and are cleared laparoscopically prior to robot docking.
- Intraoperative liver ultrasound will be used to confirm margins and define a plane of transection to encompass the mass in liver segment 6.
- Margins were clear on final pathology report.
