These interactive modules for teaching and learning basic physiology were originally developed at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto to assist care-givers explaining organ function to patients.
In a collaborative initiative with AboutKidsHealth, the PIE team converted these modules from Adobe Flash to mobile-friendly applications that work on smartphones as well as on tablets and desktop computers. This initiative was generously funded by the Sprott Department of Surgery at University Health Network.
Funding for the conversion of the Sex Development module was generously provided by the Hospital for Sick Children from Section of Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology, Division of Clinical and Metabolic Genetics, Department of Endocrinology, Division of Urology and the Hospital for Sick Children Foundation.
