Liver transplant: Living donor left lateral lobe (donor procedure) - TVASurg

Case description

The donor was a 37 year old man.
The graft will consist of segments II and III, and a portion of segment IV, leaving in the donor the caudate lobe, middle hepatic vein, and most of segment IV.
The transection plane will extend from the groove between the middle and left hepatic veins, and course approximately 1 centimetre to the right of the falciform ligament, staying medial to the gall bladder fossa.
The graft volume was carefully calculated to be adequate for the intended pediatric recipient, while maintaing safety for the donor.
