Case description
  • The patient is a 54-year-old man diagnosed with Type I Diabetes Mellitus, as well as dialysis-dependent renal failure, following a kidney transplant.
  • In addition, he also has extensive atherosclerotic disease of his common and external iliac arteries, which spares only a short segment of left external iliac artery (LEIA)
  • Using the donor innominate artery as a Y-graft off this segment of the LEIA to provide inflow to both organs, the kidney is implanted in the left iliac fossa on the left external iliac vein, and the pancreas is placed intraperitonealy on the lower IVC.
